Melissa Dickson Joins Insight Racing

Event management expert set to head marketing efforts for newly-formed racing organization

14 April, 2011 (Hilliard, OH) Both on and off of the track, Insight Racing has been picking up the pace. After recently relocating to a new headquarters in Hilliard, Ohio, Insight Racing announced on Thursday that Melissa Dickson has joined the team as Director of Marketing. The organization has designs on making an impression in the racing world, starting with its two-car campaign in the highly competitive GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series.

A graduate of The Ohio State University with a concentration in Communications and Marketing, Dickson will be tasked with continuing the development and integration of Insight Racing’s marketing plan. The Columbus native will be based in the Insight Racing headquarters and will target new business development for the team as well as overseeing all partnership coordination and social media integration. Dickson will also be responsible for managing the team’s on-site hospitality program.

Dickson brings an extensive background in event management, having been responsible for large events for Equine Affaire, Inc. including managing a volunteer corps of over 1,000 members. Dickson joins Insight Racing from The Limited, where she served as a Senior Events Specialist. The move to motorsports marks her first position in the industry, as the Ohio native gets the opportunity to connect her talents and her passion with a position in motorsports.

I am looking forward to continuing the brand development of Insight Racing, leveraging new and existing relationships, and to testing some new innovative ideas at some of the upcoming races for fans and future sponsor prospects. With my past experience in marketing events, public relations, and communications and a passion for the racing industry, I am looking forward to developing the marketing program at Insight Racing.”

Insight Racing will be back in racing action May 13-14 at Virginia International Raceway for round four of the 2011 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge championship. The most recent team outing at Barber Motorsports Park, is set to air this weekend on SPEED (April 16, 2:00 PM ET).
