Austin Hatcher Foundation To Benefit From Four Fundraising Auctions
During IMSA Race Weekend At Circuit Of The Americas

· AHF Partnering With Action Express Racing, Three Acclaimed Artists For Sept. 17 Auctions
CHATTANOOGA, TENN. (Sept. 12, 2016) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer (AHF) will have a strong presence at one of the crown jewels of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) season on Sept. 17, benefiting from four fundraising auctions during the Lone Star Le Mans weekend at the fabulous Circuit of the America’s (COTA) road course in Austin, Texas.
The Austin Hatcher Foundation is a proud partner of Daytona Beach, Florida-based IMSA, North America’s premier sports car racing sanctioning body. The COTA connection will continue a year-long series of fundraising partnerships at IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship events. The AHF, founded in 2006, is an organization committed to erasing the effects of pediatric cancer. It has a long-running link to high-end professional sports car racing. Prior to its status with IMSA, it was the official charity of the American Le Mans Series. These links have resulted in a presence at North America’s premier road racing facilities, aided by various partnerships with race teams – such as the upcoming foundation showcase at COTA
The series of fundraisers will begin with a live auction from 9:45-10:15 a.m. (CT) at the Action Express Racing team transporter in the race track’s paddock area. Auctions hosted by race teams typically feature photography, used race parts and other sports car memorabilia up for bid. Denver-based Action Express has won both the driver and team championships the last two seasons in the WeatherTech Championship’s headlining Prototype class, with drivers Christian Fittipaldi and Joao Barbosa. That duo currently leads this season’s championship standings going into the Lone Star le Mans.
“We have the champs in our corner at COTA,” said AHF President Amy Jo Osborn, “and we could not be more thrilled – or more grateful for Action Express’s support.”
In addition to the Action Express auction, three noted artists will provide paintings on Sept. 17 that will be put up for auction to benefit the AHF. That lineup:
· Throughout the day on Sept. 17, works in digital expressionism by Detroit native Karen Barrow will be available at the Lamborghini Corral;
· At 1 p.m., Roger Warrick – known as “Sebring’s artist” for his poster and program cover artwork for that famous endurance race — will be producing a new work “live” at the Corvette Corral;
· And at 2 p.m., another “live painting” will be produced by Bill Patterson, a world-class “motionsports” artist who is the “official artist” at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca at the Porsche and again at 6 p.m. at the Audi Corral.
