Hopwood Snags Seventh on Road America Grid

Elkart Lake, Wis (24 June, 2011)– Trevor Hopwood will line the No. 12 Infinity Audio Kia Forte Koup up from the fourth row for Friday’s Road America 250 after setting a fast lap time of 2:33.700 seconds around the 4-mile circuit in qualifying on Friday.

The 2.5 hour enduro into the darkness will mark round 7 of the 2011 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Championship as the series makes a debut visit to the scenic Wisconsin facility. Hopwood will start the race before turning the machine over to co-driver Adam Burrows to take to the finish.

“We had a good car once again, really probably the best the car has been all year so I am excited about the race,” said Hopwood. “A car spun in turn five right in front of me on my fastest lap, so its frustrating not to be a little closer to the front. But the car is very good, so hopefully we can move up once the race starts. This is my first time racing here, and I love it. It’s a fast track, the whole area is beautiful, and the cheese curds are delicious!”

Friday’s race is slated to go green at 6:15 local time, with SPEED broadcasting the race July 3rd at 1:00 PM ET.
