A combination of factors has led to a possible first-place payoff of $83,750 for Saturday’s winners of the Bosch Engineering 250 at Virginia International Raceway.
In addition to the first-place prize money of $40,000, GRAND-AM has posted a $25,000 ―bounty‖ if a DP team can stop the ―Ganassi Gang‖ by ending the six-race winning streak of Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas in the No. 01 TELMEX BMW/Riley. The team won the final three races of 2010 and has continued that streak by winning all three races this year.
Seven DP teams are also eligible for the Continental Horsepower bonus for first-time 2011 winners, which is now up to $18,750 since being claimed by the Ganassi team at the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona. Both Action Express Racing DPs are eligible for the bonus, in addition to the SunTrust Racing, GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing, Michael Shank Racing, Doran Racing and Spirit of Daytona Racing teams.
